UTix is a mobile application designed to simplify the cinema-going experience by allowing users to book movie tickets and order food and beverage seamlessly within a single platform.
During my time in college, specifically for the final exam in the Mobile Programming course, I was assigned to build a mobile application using Flutter. The project could be either an original idea or a clone of an existing app. So, I decided to create a cinema ticket booking application inspired by several popular apps in Indonesia.
This application integrates TMDB API as the primary source of movie data and Firebase as its database. It showcases the latest popular movies and allows users to book tickets at any cinema based on available schedules. Tickets and food or beverage orders are provided in the form of digital QR codes or barcodes, enabling users to access and carry them conveniently anytime and anywhere.
Building Utix was a very challenging experience for me. Usually, I focus on developing web applications, but this time I ventured into creating a mobile app, which is conceptually and fundamentally different. Despite the challenges, my understanding of software development has grown significantly. Overall, I learned how to build a mobile application properly and effectively.
